WEC Soul Food and Barbeque owners and employees are a part of a blended family. Our roots come from deep down in the south, where our parents, aunts and uncles all spent a lot of time in the kitchen. Children in our family were taught that we should never depend on anyone other than yourself to cook you a meal, hence we all had to learn how to cook.
There are recipes that have been pasted down through generations in our family. Our elders always laid out a great example of what soul food should be like. There were endless amounts of recipes for meals, sides and deserts including cakes and pies. As the past generation gets old we are left to continue on their examples of soul food.
My family has been around the South Florida area doing concessions, events and catering. We have now decided to bring it to our own restaurant that we call “WEC Soul Food & BBQ”. We look to continue feeding large amounts of people our soul food, provide a wide variety of soul food dishes on a day to day basis, as we continue to master the “ Fall off the bone barbecue technique” with our tasty barbecue sauces.
